The Seam School Is Moving to the Garment District
We’re moving! ✂️🧵
The Seam School is relocating from Brooklyn to a new studio in Manhattan’s Garment District to better serve our students with:
A more central, easy-to-reach location
Safer, more teaching-friendly equipment
A setup focused on home sewing machines and beginner-friendly learning
Our new space is scheduled to open in early February 2026.
The exact address and updated class schedule will be announced soon.
What happens to my upcoming class?
Because of this move, all in-person workshops scheduled at the current location in January have been canceled, including:
Intro Session Industrial Sewing Machine Basics: Sew Like a Designer – January 11
If you purchased a ticket for one of these sessions, you have three options:
Full Refund
We can issue a full refund to your original payment method.Transfer to a New Date
You can move your ticket to one of the first sessions at our new Garment District studio (dates will be released as soon as the move is finalized).Credit for a Future Class
You can keep your ticket as credit and use it for any upcoming workshop in 2026.

Why are we moving?
Over the past months, many students shared feedback about:
Machine safety and difficulty level
The number of machines available
Travel time and location convenience
After carefully reviewing all of this, we decided that the best way to improve your learning experience is to move into a dedicated teaching space in the Garment District, closer to the heart of NYC’s fashion industry.
