Intro Session：Designer Sewing 90min

What to Expect

This 90-minute trial class is the perfect way to explore sewing without pressure.
You’ll get hands-on experience with a real designer’s workflow—simple, welcoming, and beginner-friendly.

During this session, you will:

• Get comfortable with a sewing machine
Learn the basics of how a machine works, how to start and stop, and how to control speed.

• Learn how to thread the machine correctly
We’ll teach you step-by-step threading, bobbin winding, and how to fix common issues.

• Practice the essential stitches designers use every day
Straight stitch, backstitch, pivoting corners, and simple seam finishes.

• Create your first mini project
You’ll sew a small item—such as a mini card holder, coaster, or tiny drawstring pouch—designed to help you build confidence quickly.

• Get a feel for The Seam School’s teaching style
Relaxed, creative, and tailored to beginners who want to explore fashion craft.

You’ll leave with:

  • A completed mini project you made yourself

  • A basic understanding of how to operate a sewing machine

  • Confidence to take the next step into more advanced classes
